The Go Berkey Kit is designed for use during travel, outdoor activities and during unexpected emergencies. This powerful system purifies both treated water and untreated raw water from such sources as remote lakes, streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries, where regulations may be substandard at best. Perfect for outdoor activities and a must in hostile environments where electricity, water pressure or treated water may not be available. Assembles in minutes without tools, electricity, water pressure, or plumbing. What’s more, they are simple to operate and maintain.
Constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel.
How Berkey® Natural Water Purifiers Operate
For generations, health-conscious people around the world have recognized that the foundation to a healthy life and healthy body is clean, fresh drinking water. This important essential element is the basis for enjoying your longest, healthiest life. No amount of vitamins or supplements can substitute for the vital life-sustaining properties found in nourishing, healthful drinking water. It is truly the foundation of life.
To use, water is poured into the upper chamber. Gravity draws this water through the exclusive purification elements where contaminates are captured on and within theses micro-porous elements and are separated from the water. The purified water then collects in the lower chamber where it can be drawn through the spigot. What’s more, Berkey®elements are re-cleanable and can be used over and over again.
Purification vs. Pathogenic removal
The Berkey Go Kit™ is a true gravity fed "purifier". Below is an explanation of the difference between "Purification" and "Pathogenic removal":
To claim Pathogenic bacterial "removal" one must demonstrate: 99.99% reduction.
To claim "purification" one must demonstrate: 99.99999% reduction.
The Berkey Light™ has demonstrated: >99.9999999% reduction.
In fact, we tested the Berkey Light™ with the maximum pathogenic contamination levels that can be produced in a laboratory. When contamination levels exceed one billion pathogens per liter of water (10,000 times the density of contamination used in the standard test protocol for bacteriological removal) they become too numerous to count (TNTC). Such contamination levels are referred to as "lawn growth". Under normal testing protocol; one pathogenic organism is tested at a time. However, we had the laboratory mix together a soup of three separate pathogenic lawn growth cultures. We then tested the system under this extreme contamination level and absolutely no pathogens were able to make it through the purification elements. We then had the laboratory incubate the water and nothing grew. We then had them view the effluent (filtered water) under an electron microscope and not even in-viable (dead) microbes were detectable. Nothing was present but pure H2O.
The revolutionary Berkey Go Kit™ self-sterilizing and re-cleanable filter purify water by removing pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites entirely and by extracting harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, organic solvents, radon 222 and trihalomethanes. They also reduce nitrates, nitrites, and unhealthy minerals such as lead and mercury.
The Portable Water Purifier
The Sport Berkey® Portable Water Purifier is the ideal personal protection traveling companion - featuring the IONIC ADSORPTION MICRO FILTRATION SYSTEM. The theory behind this innovation is simple. The bottle's filter is designed to remove and/or dramatically reduce a vast array of health-threatening contaminants from questionable sources of water, including remote lakes and streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries where regulations may be sub-standard at best.
The Sport Berkey® Portable Water Purifier offers a convenient and portable filtration system using medical grade technology.
Care and Use
Fill the Sport Berkey® Portable Water Purifier with water, screw on cap and tighten securely to eliminate leaks. Flush water through filter by pulling down lever, so that straw is exposed, and squeeze water through filter & out the straw. Repeat this flushing process twice before drinking. This removes excess process dust from the filter. After 2 flushes, rinse the bottle & cap. Your filter bottle is now ready for use. Enjoy!
Maintenance and Storage
The Sport Berkey® Portable Water Purifier has a shelf life of 50 years. When the filter system will not be used for an extended period, flush the unit with a chlorinated solution of 1/4 tsp. per one half gallon of water. Allow to dry thoroughly with cap removed. Re-assemble and stow. Do not allow filter to freeze, do not place in microwave oven and do not run hot water through the filter.
Note: All contaminants that this filter has the ability to remove or reduce may not necessarily be in the user's water supply.
Note: If using a source of water that might contain extreme bacteriological or viral contamination, it is recommended that two drops of plain chlorinated bleach or iodine be added to each refill before filtering. This will kill minute pathogens such as viruses. The disinfectant will then be filtered from the water entirely removing its odor, color and taste.
